Tanit Ring

The Tanit Ring is a striking creation centred around a 20 mm bronze coin from the Carthaginian Empire, minted in Sardinia circa 300–264 BCE. The coin depicts the goddess Tanit, adorned with a wreath of barley and leaves, a pendant necklace, and an earring with three pendants. As the chief deity of ancient Carthage, Tanit symbolised strength, protection, and prosperity, embodying the spirit of a thriving empire.

Preserved in exceptionally fine (XF) condition, the coin’s intricate details reveal the artistry of its time. Tanit’s portrait portrays her as a fierce yet graceful young woman. On the reverse, a horse’s bust, facing right, is accompanied by a pellet and crescent, symbolising Carthage’s power and freedom. The coin’s rich brown patina adds to its allure, enhancing its timeless beauty.

Set in 18k rose gold, the coin is embraced by a bezel and shank adorned with 28 black diamonds, their subtle sparkle creating a galaxy-like effect against the warm tones of the metal. The Tanit Ring harmoniously unites ancient history with contemporary craftsmanship, celebrating the enduring legacy of Carthage and its revered goddess.

“An undisputed star of the Tanit collection is the Tanit Ring. Centred with a second-century B.C. bronze coin bearing a detailed profile of the Carthaginian fertility and mother goddess Tanit, the ring is graced with a galaxy of 28 tiny black diamonds that glitter with subtle allure.”
