Histiaia Branch Earrings

The Histiaia Branch Earrings honour Euboia’s rich winemaking heritage, blending ancient history with elegant contemporary design. Each earring features an extremely fine (EF) silver tetrobol coin from Euboia, minted between the 3rd and 2nd centuries BCE. These coins depict the nymph Histiaia in exquisite detail, her profile adorned with a necklace and earring, her hair elegantly styled in a sphendone and wreathed with vine leaves and grapes, symbolising Euboia’s prominence in ancient Greek viticulture.

Histiaia, the namesake of this ancient city, was revered as a guardian of natural resources, representing the springs and rivers that sustained the city’s prosperity. Euboia played a pivotal role in ancient Greece, thriving in maritime trade and agricultural abundance, particularly its renowned wine production.

The coins are encased in 18k yellow gold bezels, suspended from frosted yellow gold branches inspired by the essence of viticulture. The vines intertwine with polished gold “grapes,” accented by eighteen grey diamonds. Weighing 12.27 grams in total, these earrings exude luxury and intricate craftsmanship, seamlessly connecting the artistry of the past with modern sophistication. The Histiaia Branch Earrings are unique and timeless, a celebration of history and contemporary design.
